This is one
sub that definitely sounds every bit as good as it looks. Gold-plated
binding posts, 12" down-firing drive unit, a four way phase
adjust, superb real-wood veneer, continuously variable crossover
up to 170Hz and a sound that is as controlled as it is dramatic.
A 150WRMS internal amplifier and high and low level inputs, allows
you to use it even if your amplifier doesn’t have RCA output.
The auto-power
feature senses when a signal is sent to the sub-woofer and switches
it on. If no signal is detected for a period of 15 minutes, the
sub automatically switches back into standby mode.
The high-power
internal amplifiers are very efficient and custom designed for sub-woofers
to handle the impedance and frequency characteristics peculiar to
sub-sonics.
It can be connected
straight to the 'subwoofer' output of any dedicated amplifier and
the majority of AV amplifiers, or, alternatively, you can route
the loudspeaker outputs from ANY stereo amplifier through the PowerCubes,
the signal is then transmitted back out from the PowerCube to the
stereo speakers.
By adjusting
the crossover, phase and volume, you can match the sound to virtually
any system. Ideally you want the sub to take over where your usual
speakers run out of steam and to be phase coherent at the crossover
frequency. The PowerCube provides the impact and dynamics to really
bring the soundtrack to life without ever sounding boomy or woolly.
